Start a ROVERlution in Your City
- If location permits, find a meeting place approx 1 mile from City Hall. The meeting place can be a city park or large parking lot. First get permission to meet from park authorities or parking lot retailers. Large pet stores like Petsmart and Petco have been sympathetic.
- As a courtesy, tell your police department about the date and time of the March. You must be sure to stay on the sidewalks and not obstruct pedestrian traffic. It is your constitutional right to protest on the steps of City Hall, so enjoy this protected forum!
- The most successful Marches have been organized by local dog groups, (esp those involved with rescue activities) since they naturally have a pool of dedicated soldiers who will help get the word out and also attend. Call a meeting to discuss plans for your March and get volunteer support. Print and bring copies of our tri-fold pamphlet. Download and print side one and side two. Print side one first, then print side two on the reverse side. Fold into a tri-fold pamphlet.
- Ask the local newspapers to announce your March as a community event and you can often can get a news reporter to cover the story. It’s easy to drum up media interest when you mention the name “Pit Bull.” We help to create more media attention by sending out national press releases beginning in October. See a copy of our last Press Release. Link on sidebar.
- As soon as we receive your meeting place and contact info, ROVERlution will customize your flyer as a pdf document so you can easily print them. Take these flyers all over town to places where dog people frequent: Dog parks, pet stores, veterinarians, dog sporting events and dog breed clubs. We also post the details of each March on the ROVERlution website to help attract new recruits for your March!
